Ixar was orphaned at a young age. Conjuring the demon of envy Leviathan by accident, Ixar was tricked into binding his soul with the demon giving it access to the material plane. Joe spent his childhood learning, by trial and error, how to balance evil magics, summon lower demons, and control Leviathan. However, something odd happened. Normally demons ruthlessly used their hosts, gaining enough control to kill them. Instead, Leviathan’s nature softened toward her human. The two of them created a bond closer than any family.
The pact between a demon and a wizard’s not looked upon favorably. It made Ixar an outcast from the magical world, so he stayed on the move. Good looking and charismatic, he traveled the world making unsavory contacts. Building a network of magical means and a name for himself as someone who could get you anything you needed.
His friendships with his fellow wizards at 314 PI are the first ones he has ever had outside of his demon. And he cherishes them, a huge part of his obsession with teamwork and doing everything together.
