Nozomi Dhampir, part human and part vampire. Nozomi’s Character Sheet |
Joe’s homebrew notes
– Supernatural creatures only roll physical stats on abilities that need more than the average human skill.
– Part human, and part vampire, Dhampir need the energy of others to survive. Forsaking the traditional blood of her father’s people, Nozomi feeds through stealing life energy with the spell “Steal Life.” She must do this three times in a 24 hour period or take fatigue, healing spells also count as it is still another’s energy going into her body. She can eat like a normal human and requires more sleep when not stealing life.
Steal Life Spell details: Range = touch. Target = One. Duration = concentration. Saving throw = Fortitude. At level one, heal 1D4 every round. For every 1 minute, target is drained one year of life. Also known as, don’t eat your friends unless you don’t need them anymore.
– Dhampir get a bonus to technology rolls (+2).
– Dhampir are poisoned if they ingest garlic & silver burns them still, but does not kill like a full vampire.
Backstory
By Sandy
(After many revisions and never actually told or given to the group.)
I was born two hundred years ago. I killed my mother coming out and was raised in my father’s vampire court in France to be a tool in his political empire. I never drank blood, instead draining the energy I needed through a spell so intuitive I don’t know how I learned it. I had private tutors, arms masters, and every advantage. My favorite tutor, Alaric Malcolm, spent hours teaching me strategy and history. But as soon as his lessons were over, I was alone. I never had real friends. My father pushed and pushed until I ran. I found a brief refuge at a university where I learned about friendship and my mother’s people, but despite my years there I didn’t feel like I belonged. Eventually I returned to my father, and he welcomed me with open arms, but told me of his evil plans against my mother’s people.
I will not be used. I am not a weapon. I am not a human or a vampire. I am an individual. I journey to find confidence in who I am and be more than my two races. To maybe help others find their confidence once I find mine. And most importantly, find friends who respect and accept each other for their uniqueness. I will not run from my father or myself. I will find a way to accept both my mind and my future, whatever that will be.
